WINGS recognizes the following businesses, foundations,
organizations and individuals who gave $1,000 or more during fiscal year 2020

Making a Difference

Teen Advocate Turns Handicrafts Into Donations

Maci selected WINGS, not only for her middle school project, but to receive donations from the sales of her amazing handicrafts.

2,048 Individual Donors

Individuals contribute to the work of WINGS through various appeals, campaigns, and general donations; which are critical to meeting daily operational and staffing needs.  Some individuals even organize their own fundraising campaigns knowing they can raise more money for the work of WINGS by engaging their own spheres of influence with advocacy to end domestic violence.

129 Businesses

Businesses and Corporations partner with WINGS beyond funding and supplies by creating environments of social responsibility where their staff are able to engage on a variety of levels to end domestic violence.

Give Back and Help

“We at Fusion Cares are pleased to announce an all-remote volunteer opportunity to give back and help underprivileged families in Northern Illinois. We are again partnering with WINGS, which is the same organization we helped with our holiday gift drive and tile painting event in December. They’re really a very special organization.” Chris Arwady – Fusion Cares Ambassador

Raise Awareness

“WINGS Purple Tie Ball is an excellent way to bring people together to raise awareness of domestic violence. As a co-chair of the Purple Tie Ball, I feel it’s important for everyone to hear the voices of the WINGS graduates. Their stories of strength and their journey are inspiring.”
Melissa Canning, Regional Sales Manager at Handgards and WINGS Purple Tie Ball Co-Chair

422 Event Sponsors/Donors

Event sponsorships from individuals, businesses, and corporations are the foundation of WINGS events generating support and involvement to end domestic violence in our communities.

We thank our Event Sponsors for allowing their sponsorship to be carried forward to the rescheduled event date or used as a general donation where needed most.

40 Organizations, Civic Clubs, Schools, and Community Groups

Organizations, Civic Clubs, Schools, and Community Groups are critical partners for WINGS to engage the community and provide education and advocacy on domestic violence.

Special Thanks

The Rotary Club of Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates donated meals to the Suburban Safe House that were already bought for their annual fundraising event when they decided to take the event online at the last minute due to COVID-19 and the Shelter in Place Order. In addition, they donated $3,000 worth of supplies to meet the needs of WINGS clients during the Order.

Ensuring Safety of Residents

“It's heartening to learn of the sensitive and strategic ways you're ensuring the safety of residents. We're so grateful for this transformational partnership and appreciate your dedication, especially during this crisis.” Christy Prahl – Program Director, Health and Human Services at Crown Family Philanthropies

35 Foundations

WINGS partners with Foundation and Corporate Grantors who provide crucial funding to advance the agency’s comprehensive services to survivors. In 2020, many Foundations removed restrictions of funding and released funds earlier than normal due to COVID-19.

38 Religious Communities

The beginning of WINGS came out of the compassion of a group of individuals from a Religious Community 35 years ago, and they continue to be some of our most dedicated partners in breaking the cycle of domestic violence.

“During the COVID-19 Crisis, many faith communities reached out to their members through email and social media to let them know of the needs WINGS had for in-kind donations such as cleaning supplies, underwear, and medicines. Beth Tikvah Congregation, Kingswood United Methodist Church, St. Hubert Catholic Church, Mary Seat of Wisdom, and Christian Church of Arlington Heights are just a few of those that helped.” Tabitha Nilson – WINGS In-Kind Program Donations Supervisor

dedication to end domestic violence

“During the Shelter in Place Order, many WINGS Butterfly Club members gave additional financial gifts, donated in-kind supplies, and even increased their monthly giving amount to ensure the needs of clients continued to be met. We are so grateful to their dedication to end domestic violence!”
Shelley Welch – WINGS Sr. Manager of Annual Fund Giving

39 Butterfly Club Donors

WINGS Butterfly Club members are vital partners to WINGS providing consistent monthly support for the services clients need every day on their journey to freedom from domestic violence.
