Denise Urban, CPA CFE, Executive Vice President/
Chief Financial Officer

Denise joined the WINGS Program Inc. in 2007. Her responsibilities include oversight of finance, HR data management and IT. Her administrative team supports all areas of the agency, ensuring they have the tools they need to provide services to the women and children of WINGS. Denise began her career in public accounting as a CPA, where she specialized in not-for-profit accounting, audit and tax work with Ahlbeck & Company. She advanced to Senior Manager of Not-for-Profit Services, working to oversee the not-for-profit practice at the firm. Her clients ranged from social service agencies to membership organizations in both the local and regional arenas. She performed numerous consulting engagements for her clients, including systems creation, internal control reviews, tax-exempt status acquisition and fraud examinations. She spent over 14 years in the field, including 10 as the lead auditor for WINGS. Denise received her Bachelors of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. Denise currently serves as a volunteer manager for Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana Council. She is an adult education specialist, Gold Award Taskforce member and member of the Global Action Volunteer Team.
