“When I came to WINGS, it was the first place I had felt safe in a long time.” Amber*
Generous donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, and faith communities allow WINGS to continue to provide outstanding services to Amber* and the many other clients WINGS serves on a daily basis. In fact, in Fiscal Year 2019, WINGS provided over 80,000 nights of safe, peaceful shelter to men, women, and children.
The impact of the services WINGS provides is far reaching and goes beyond shelter and emergency care. WINGS empowered 968 adults in the last year through counseling, life skills, parenting classes, relationship building, safety planning, and legal assistance. WINGS also helped 513 children break the cycle of domestic violence through activities that helped them deal with the effects of domestic violence, such as art therapy and play therapy.
As the end of 2019 draws near, WINGS looks ahead to the ways it will continue forth to break the cycle of domestic violence. In 2020, WINGS will celebrate 35 years! The positive impact WINGS has had over all of these years couldn’t have been accomplished without the help of generous donors, both financial and in-kind.
So, if you are reading this blog and wonder if your gift of support makes a difference, even after reading all of the stats above, this statement from a WINGS graduate is the proof, “Our hearts keep thanking you. Your thoughtfulness is a gift we’ll always treasure.”
