CHICAGO (CBS) – Denise Brown, sister of Nicole Brown Simpson, is in town this week to raise money for domestic violence victims.
22-years ago, the O.J. Simpson saga brought domestic violence to the national spotlight. Since then, Denise Brown, sister of Nicole Brown Simpson, has fought to end it, CBS 2’s Dana Kozlov reports.
“I think I’m less angry,” Brown said.
Brown cannot believe two decades have passed since her sister’s murder. Brown said speaking out about her death, abusive marriage to football star O.J. Simpson and domestic violence has helped her heal.
“It’s a way to keep her memory alive,” Brown said. “Fun times we had.”
Nicole Brown Simpson was 35 when she was murdered alongside Ron Goldman. O.J. Simpson was charged with the crimes, but acquitted. The case made international headlines. It also changed the way society confronted domestic violence. Brown helped lead that change.
