FEATURED VOLUNTEER
Rose Bass

Six years ago, through a Girl Scout troop community service project, Rose Bass was introduced to WINGS. Since then, wanting to bring awareness to domestic violence (DV) and to help victims, Rose shared about WINGS with her yarn community, and they began donating to WINGS handmade crochet and knit items such as blankets, toys, shawls, and winter sets.

When asked why it is important for them to volunteer their time and resources this way, Rose said, “The yarn community that helps me with this has expressed how good they feel knowing someone in need might enjoy their handmade items!”

Beyond this, Rose also volunteers on her own at WINGS In-kind Donation Center each Saturday. She said, “It’s a good feeling to volunteer anywhere, but WINGS is a specific place for me to do this work as I have first-hand experience with DV. By being with Tabitha, In-Kind Program Donations Supervisor and Craig, another volunteer, I’ve gained friendships that are amazing!”
