Recently, Chicago music industry icon Norm Winer and WXRT air personality Wendy Rice joined WINGS Honorary Leadership Council. As a power couple in the music scene, they amassed many accomplishments and brought life to the music scene in Chicago. They look to bring their expertise and connections to further WINGS mission of ending domestic violence.
Norm shares, “I’ve always admired WINGS inspiring track record. We’ll help them gain additional exposure to elevate their profile. More people need to be aware of the great work they do.”
Norm Winer
Norm is an icon in the Chicago music industry. He had many leadership roles at XRT radio for more than 35 years including VP of Programming, Director of Programming and was named CBS Radio VP of Rock in 2003. All of these titles were well-deserved as he brought amazing talent to life including the likes of U2 and Tom Petty and many more.
As one of North America’s most respected and celebrated radio programmers and media strategists, he has earned many accolades.

Wendy Rice
Wendy has been called Chicago radio royalty. She spent 30+ years at WXRT as a stand-out air personality and is best remembered as host and producer of Saturday Morning Flashback, the station’s top-rated program.

Noteworthy
Norm and WINGS Metro Leadership Council member, Kristin Tews, along with business partner Rob Tovar, recently launched Noteworthy, a curated, streaming entertainment network.
Noteworthy includes multiple music channels and podcasts for adults with more adventurous tastes and interests.
WINGS President and CEO Rebecca Darr shares, “I have been listening to Noteworthy and it is a great platform. We are exploring partnership opportunities to use the platform to promote the great work that we do at WINGS as we grow into new markets. We are excited about the future of this partnership!
