WINGS Resale Store in Niles Expands Storefront by 4,000 Square Feet – Domestic Violence Survivors Benefit

Niles (September 23rd, 2024) – WINGS Resale in Niles, 8349 W. Golf Road, is expanding its store by 4,000 square feet this week. The store’s Grand Re-Opening is being held Thursday, September 26^th, at 6:00pm and will include a ribbon cutting and afterhours shopping event. Now able to display more furniture, clothing, and housewares, WINGS Resale in Niles plans increasing their sales which provides critical funding for WINGS Program, Inc.’s impactful programming for survivors of domestic violence.

Guests and shoppers attending WINGS after-hours ribbon-cutting ceremony will receive appetizers, drinks, and a 50% off sale for any treasures that they find. This 50% off sale will start Thursday and run through Sunday, September 29^th. The store will also accept onsite. RSVP here.

Nancy Hess, WINGS Director of Resale Stores, shares, “We are so excited to show the community our newly expanded space. Our community donors and supply chain partners really provide fantastic products, so our larger space will allow us to showcase more furniture and other merchandise, ultimately helping more survivors of domestic violence.”

WINGS three Resale stores provide many benefits to the community.

Shoppers find unique and/or high-quality items at affordable prices. Shopping WINGS Resale is a sustainable alternative to shopping retail and keeps items in good condition out of a landfill. Proceeds from WINGS Resale benefit WINGS comprehensive and impactful programming for survivors of domestic violence. Survivors often benefit directly from WINGS Resale.

“On many occasions, families arrive at our safe homes with just the clothes on their back. A detailed request including clothing needs will be sent directly to our Resale stores. Staff and volunteers will quickly fill the order and the request is filled within a few hours,” Ms. Hess, continues.

Additionally, families served by WINGS moving into transitional housing or rapid rehousing programs select furniture and housewares.

Ms. Hess continues, “Each household moving into a Transitional Housing or Rapid Rehousing unit is provided with a free, one-time delivery.

Within 24-48 hours of their WINGS Resale shopping appointment, clients’ chosen items are delivered. With a newly furnished apartment, clients make their new place feel like home.”
